The Mothers Wit Book
of
Extempore Speech
(circa 2003)

Being intended to be of use for all good folk wishing to speak after the manner of William Shakespeare and Good Queen Bess.

The purpose of this book is to teach you to speak Elizabethan English. We hope to enable you to translate anything you can think of in your mind into Elizabethan speech. You can become so fluent and conversational that you will charm and delight our twenty-first century visitors, who come to our events hoping to be convinced that they have been transported to the sixteenth century. You've worked hard making your costumes; you've developed a convincing character. Now, we will give you a voice.
